60-year old Pedestrian Kiled in Hit & Run Collision

On Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 5:59 PM, Fullerton Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Lemon Street and Santa Fe Avenue regarding a traffic collision involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located a 60-year-old male lying on Lemon Street in the southbound number 2 lane of traffic. The male had serious, life-threatening injuries as a result of being struck by a vehicle. Fullerton Fire responded and immediately transported the male pedestrian to a local trauma center for treatment. Shortly after arrival, the male pedestrian was pronounced deceased.

The vehicle that struck the male pedestrian, later determined to be a 2015 grey Honda Civic, left the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

Initial investigation indicates that a 2015 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Lemon Street, just north of Santa Fe Avenue, when it struck the male pedestrian, who was not in a crosswalk at time the of the collision, as the male pedestrian was attempting to cross Lemon Street westbound.

The driver of the Honda Civic, Marianne Hill (43, Fullerton), later returned to the scene and she was subsequently placed under arrest for felony hit and run causing great bodily injury or death. Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the cause of this collision.

The identity of the 60-year-old male pedestrian will be released by the Orange County Coroner at a time in which they deem appropriate.
