Fatal Traffic Collision 6/27/17
On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at approximately 4:01 PM, Fullerton Police Officers responded to multiple reports of a traffic collision involving a motorcyclist down in the area of Brea Blvd and Evergreen. Upon arrival, FPD officers found that a motorcyclist had been involved in a serious traffic collision with two other vehicles, both of which remained at the scene. The motorcyclist had serious injuries, and passing motorists had stopped to perform CPR on him while they awaited ...emergency personnel to arrive.
Fullerton-Brea Firefighters responded and immediately transported the motorcyclist, a 25-year-old male, to a local trauma center where he unfortunately was pronounced deceased by Emergency Room staff.
Preliminary investigation shows that a Silver Volkswagen Jetta had just turned northbound on Brea Blvd from westbound Evergreen when it collided with the motorcyclist, who was travelling northbound on Brea Blvd at the time. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was thrown off of his motorcycle, and both he and his Harley-Davidson skid into the southbound lanes of south Brea Blvd traffic. A silver Honda Civic that was travelling southbound on Brea Blvd then struck both the motorcyclist and the Harley-Davidson as they skid in the southbound lanes.
It does not appear that drugs nor alcohol played a factor in the collision.
This investigation is still ongoing. FPD Accident Investigators are on-scene interviewing witnesses and conducting a thorough investigation. Traffic was heavy at the time of this collision, and it is believed that more individuals may have witnessed this tragic accident than have thus far come forward.
