Weekend update: Death of 95-year-old woman appears to be accidental
Police are investigating the death of a 95-year-old woman who was found in her backyard with injuries on her legs and lower body.
An initial review by the coroner indicates that she may have fallen, and there does not appear to be any signs of foul play, said Sgt. Jeff Stuart.
Police discovered her about 9 a.m. Sunday in the 500 Block of N. Stanford.
About 30 minutes later in separate incident, police stopped a homeless man, Ariel Santiago, 19, and found several baggies filled with marijuana. He allowed police to look through his cell phone and officers saw several text messages between him and high school students.
When questioned about it, he admitted selling the drug to the students on a regular basis, police said, and was arrested.
