Fatal Traffic Collision

On Monday, June 25, 2018 at approximately 3:17 PM, Fullerton Police Officers responded to the 3700 block of Harbor Blvd regarding a head-on traffic collision involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers located a blue, 2018 Toyota Tacoma and a silver, 1996 GMC Jimmy. The vehicles were in the number one lane of southbound Harbor Blvd, and the unidentified male driver of the GMC Jimmy was trapped inside the vehicle with significant, life-threatening injuries.

Fullerton Fire... responded and immediately transported the male driver of the Toyota Tacoma to a local trauma center with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Despite Fullerton Fire’s life-saving efforts, the male driver of the GMC Jimmy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation reveals the GMC Jimmy was travelling northbound on Harbor Blvd when, for unknown reasons, the GMC Jimmy veered into the center divider and crossed into southbound traffic, striking the Toyota Tacoma head-on as it was travelling southbound on Harbor Blvd in the number one lane. The vehicles immediately came to rest in the number one lane of southbound Harbor Blvd.

The deceased male driver’s identification will be released by the Orange County Coroner at a time they feel appropriate and upon notification of next of kin.

At this point in the investigation, it is not known if alcohol and/or drugs played a factor in the cause of the collision.
